The staff C.N.A. is a member of the multidisciplinary team who reports directly
to the Clinical Nurse Manager. He/she provides direct care to children with
special health care needs and works directly with and is supervised by staff
LPN’s and RN’s.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Current certification as a C.N.A. in the state of Delaware and current
CPR certification.
2. Must have at least one year of recent pediatric experience.
3. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and ability
to foster positive relationships with families, staff, and the community.
4. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without restriction.
5. Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the
center's philosophy.
6. Must have patience, creativity, and ability to nurture and teach
children.
7. Experience working with children with complex medical and
developmental need preferred.
8. Must be flexible and enjoy working with children in a team approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide personal care and treatments to children as assigned;
appropriately document all care provided.
2. Provide ongoing assessment of plan of care; maintain current
knowledge of child's plan, goals, and needs.
3. Recognize and report any changes in children's status to RN/Clinical
Nurse Manager.
4. Participate in care conferences.
5. Provide warm, nurturing care to children, maintain safe environment at
all times, and follow standard precautions.
6. Maintain current knowledge of PPEC and Delacare regulations and
adhere to these and all center policies.
7. Maintain professional attitude and confidentiality of child and center
information at all times.
8. Participate in developmental activities as outlined by education staff.
9. Provide personal care, serve meals, and perform light housekeeping
duties as necessary to the care, safety, and health of the children.
10. Continue to update professional knowledge and skills through
attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service
classes.
11. If unable to resolve any staff or family conflict or concern, report to
Clinical Nurse Manager. Report any incidents, accidents, or health
and safety concerns immediately to Clinical Nurse Manager or Center
Director.
12. Attend regular staff meetings and in-service trainings.
13. Serve on committees as designated (e.g. safety, infection control,
supplies, parent education etc.).
14. Complete other duties as assigned by Clinical Nurse Manager or
Center Director.
